About Madeline

About Madeline Madeline Hirsch is a fashion editor, blogger, and entrepreneur behind the popular style site and shop SheforStyle. After graduating with a journalism degree from Notre Dame, she dove into the world of fashion media – serving as an editor at Byrdie, Brides, and Glamour.

Now based back in her hometown of New York City, Madeline runs SheforStyle while also regularly contributing to top tier publications. She lives by the mantra “dress fearlessly” – both in her writing and personal wardrobe.

Fashion Background

Madeline grew up flipping through Vogue and obsessing over fashion week. She landed her first industry gig as an intern at a PR agency while studying at Notre Dame. This behind-the-scenes look only further fueled her drive to work in fashion and media.

After college, Madeline took on roles at Byrdie, Brides, and Glamour – covering everything from runway trends to celebrity style. She developed an eye for what real women want to read and wear. After years of editing other publications, Madeline felt ready to launch her own platform.

Launching SheforStyle

Madeline came up with the concept for SheforStyle after struggling to find a fashion site that met her needs as a reader. She wanted to bridge the gap between high fashion content and accessible style advice.

After initial planning, she quit her full-time job in 2023 to dedicate herself to SheforStyle. The site launched in early 2024 as a blog and quickly grew to include the shop component.

Madeline self-funded the platform and handles all operations from writing to product sourcing. SheforStyle is her passion project to inspire women to dress boldly and authentically.

My Mission With SheforStyle

I want to empower women to find their fashion confidence. The media too often presents an unrealistic or intimidating version of style. I aim to translate runway and celebrity looks into outfits for real life.

My goal is to help women put together a wardrobe of staples they feel great wearing. Content covers everything from building a capsule closet, to nailing workwear, to styling the latest trends.

I also use SheforStyle as a platform to champion female founders and sustainable fashion. My mission is to make fashion fun, approachable and something you feel good about wearing.
